PART I: FOR PARTNERS OF COMMUNITY HOMESTAY PROGRAMS

Are you a homestay provider or supporter of community homestay networks and CBT initiatives? Would you like to help promote the tourism initiatives of local people through community homestay tourism?

The editors of the first pictorial book on community homestay tourism would like to solicit essays that are focused specifically about living with the locals and authentic cultural immersion.  The title of the book is:  Community Homestays: Discovering the other side of tourism. The submitted essays shall be reviewed and evaluated based on the suitability and quality of material and writing style.

Length of essay: 600 words max

Content: Any topic relevant to community homestays in your community or the community/ies you support.  For example:

  • Community participation and self-reliance in community homestay villages
  • Skills, resources and cultural wealth of local families
  • Special topics on food, environment, arts and crafts, music, dance, ceremonies, sustainability, life-changing experiences, etc.

What you get if your essay/s are selected:

  • Your community will be included in the directory of community homestays.  
  • You will receive a free e-copy of the book
  • Acknowledgements across our websites and social media platforms.

PART II: FOR GUESTS OR PARTICIPANTS OF COMMUNITY HOMESTAY PROGRAMS

Did you enjoy living with the locals on your travels? Would you like to contribute to the first book about community homestays?   The editors of the first pictorial book on community homestay tourism would like to solicit essays about your experience living with the locals and engaging in their daily life.

Number of words: 300 max

Content:

  • The nature of your visit
  • The most unforgettable experiences
  • The most significant outcomes.

 

What you get if your essay/s are selected:

  • Your community will be included in the directory of community homestays.  
  • You will receive a free e-copy of the book
